Basic Programming
...includes all of the following services:
- Unpack the radio, create a job order, read the customer's request / list
- Contact the customer if necessary to clarify the programming request
- Connect the programming cable, run the appropriate programming software
- Upload (read) the existing program from radio
- Zero-out the current program to factory defaults (if requested)
- Edit the channel programming data (1)
- Edit the ordinary Common Data parameters (excluding Advanced Parameters) (2)
- **(here is where the Advanced Parameters, if any, are edited - see below)**
- Download (write) the new program into the radio
- Print the new programming data and job order receipt for the customer
- Save the new programming file to hard disk (for local archive purposes only)
- Basic function check (TX and RX) on up to 3 channels (low, mid, & high freq.)
- Quick cleanup of the radio's exterior, tighten external fasteners as needed
- Re-package the radio for return shipment

(1) Channel Programming includes setting ALL of the software's channel row parameters, including:
- RX freq - TX freq -Alpha tag - CTCSS or DCS - scan/skip status
- PRI Chan - ToT on/off - BCLO/BTLO - and any other item on the channel row.
(2) Ordinary Common Data parameters include:
- Scan lists - Channel groups - Scan settings - Time-out Timer value
- SoftKey settings - and anything else not included in Advanced Parameters.
Cloning
...means downloading (writing) the exact same program with no additional edits into the exact same model radio at the same time as the original programming service. If more identical radios are sent at a later time, a Basic Programming charge will be assessed for the first radio in that package in addition to the Cloning charge.
Cloning Plus
Many times, customers will desire very minor alterations in programming in each radio of a group of radios that otherwise use basically the same program. Cloning Plus accomodates this requirement. With Cloning Plus service, all of the following parameters can be changed on a per-radio basis without incurring a new Basic Programming charge:
- Power-on message (in models with this feature)
- One ANI code
- One Paging code
Advanced Parameters
...require significant extra work and therefore additional cost. Advanced Parameters include such items as:
- 2 tone paging - 5/6 tone signalling - DTMF autodial
- DTMF paging - ANI signaling - Emergency signaling
- I/O port configurations - Trunking or networking parameters
Because of the wide variety of possible combinations, pricing for Advanced Parameter programming will have to be quoted individually. Please contact me in advance of your order to discuss your requirements.
Note very well: You must be able to supply me the exact frequencies, parameters, and settings that you need for proper operation on your radio system(s), and your radio must be a model with the required capabilities and option(s) (if any) that are needed. I will help you determine these as best I can in correspondence, but I cannot possibly know all of the details about your local system(s). I do guarantee that I will program your radios with the frequencies, parameters, and settings that you request. I cannot guarantee that all of these will all work on your local system(s).

I want you to have a radio that works properly and with which you are satisfied. If you discover a programming error when you get your radio back, please contact me right away. Sometimes these are merely misunderstandings about how things are designed to work and can be clarified for you. But if there is in fact an error that requires programming correction, I will fix it ASAP and you will not be charged for the re-programming. Return the radio to me within 30 days of the original programming service for any needed adjustments. Your radio will be moved to the front of the line immediately upon receipt, re-programmed as necessary, and returned to you promptly.
Please note that you (the customer) always pay for shipping costs both ways. I cannot absorb shipping costs for any services, even in the case of a warranty re-programming. Thank you for understanding.
