Your Programming Worksheet

The very best way to get your programming information to me is to write it on a piece of paper or print it using a columnar format like that available in a Microsoft Excel worksheet or a Table in a Microsoft Word document, and enclose it on paper with your radio(s).  That way, I'll see it exactly as you wrote or printed it.  (Hint:  Print in Landscape orientation to get more & wider columns on the page.) There can be problems when sending this kind of data as text in the body of an e-mail message.  Different e-mail programs can skew the alignment of information you thought you had in column order, making interpretation of the information tricky on the other end.  I'd recommend against sending programming data via e-mail text, especially if you have more than about 2 channels-worth of data.  However, you are welcome to transmit your programming worksheet to me via e-mail as an attached Excel spreadsheet or Word document with an inserted Table if you wish. The following is the minimum channel data needed to provide basic programming for your Yaesu or Vertex radio.  Set these items as column headers left-to-right across the top of your programming worksheet: - Channel number - Channel name ("tag") - Receive frequency - Receive ("decode") CTCSS or DCS, if any - Transmit frequency, or No TX if a receive-only channel - Transmit ("encode") CTCSS or DCS, if any - Scan or Skip status for scanning - Transmit power (hi, lo, or mid power if available) - Time-out timer off or on Of course, most Vertex radios have many additional settings available.  If you're unsure or unaware of what programmable settings are available in your model, please contact me ahead of time and ask.  I'll be happy to answer your questions.  Eventually, I will post individual Programmer's Notes for every Model Serviced with more detailed and specific information for each model.
